Part 1 covered the foundation. Part 2 is about putting that foundation to work.

In the second half of this conversation, CPA Robert Sushin joins The Heavyweight Collective to explore the wealth-building strategies that can change your financial future. The discussion dives into Roth IRAs, tax-free investing, compound growth, real estate tax advantages, and why understanding the tax code is one of the smartest investments you can make.

The conversation also examines financial freedom beyond income, using entertaining hypothetical scenarios to reveal how people think about money, ethics, and long-term success. Together, the crew explores what it means to build wealth intentionally, protect it legally, and create opportunities that extend beyond a paycheck.

If Part 1 was about building the foundation, this episode is about building the future.

Building Wealth Beyond the Basics

SPEAKER_00

Are we back? This is part two. And that talk your shit with Robert, the CPA, that does it better than anybody else. And I love it. You had a bill from scratch in 2026. What are the first five things you do?

SPEAKER_01

First off, you need capital. So uh money's hot. You you gotta have you gotta have cash. So uh of course, from day zero, teach your kids how to save, teach your kids a budget, teach them the value of a dollar. Uh and don't don't spend all of your money just because you're you made a thousand dollars this month, that doesn't mean you get to spend a thousand dollars this month. No, tell that to the women you gotta have a woman budget. So you you can you can put your your woman expense as part of your budget, but have a budget, and in that budget have savings. Uh next, anytime you can get to tax-free money, you've already won. You've won between, depending on your bracket, 10 to 35 percent. So a Roth IRA. Uh contribute to that every year. The government knows a Roth is in everybody's favor. That's why they cap what you're able to contribute to it. So max that out. Put that into your budget. Uh I think they just raised it, it's like $7,500 uh per year. That's not a whole lot of money, but keep in mind per year, time value of money, you put that into an account, even a conservative uh say 10%, or we'll say five to 10%, that money should be doubling every seven years. So you put $7,500 per year. How you we we all got what 20 plus years till retirement? So that money has tripled. So that's $7,500 that's worth $23,000. And that's tax-free money. So you put it into the account now, you get no benefits now. It grows. And when you withdraw it, that's tax-free. You've already gained an additional 10 to 35%, depending on your bracket, on top of whatever it has gained over all of these years. That's free money. Every year, maximize your Roth. Best thing you can do. Anytime you can get to tax-free money. So, other than a Roth, how do you get to tax-free money? We'll talk capital gains. So, own a home. Owning a home, you you hear why this is important. So, uh say you you have a home, you it's been your uh primary residence two of the last five years, you have up to a $250,000 exclusion per person. So you're married, that's $500,000. Exclusion on any gains you have in your home. So uh I I did this, my first house. I was in the ghetto, I was in San Burr, I was in Rialto, and I bided my time. Uh, I was there for I think eight years, and during COVID, prices inflated super like so fast. I essentially doubled my money and maximized my exclusion. I had $250,000 in my pocket, tax-free, put that into another property. That was my down payment. That and that got me into a property I couldn't afford. That you could do this every every say seven to ten years. As prices increase, roll that over, put it right into the next property. You are gaining that is wealth, that's generational wealth. That is how you establish yourself.

SPEAKER_00

All right. Um, since I've known you, I don't know if you remember this. Back on the on the UPS belt, we used to do this thing called hypothetical.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I remember the hypotheticals. I started the hypotheticals.

SPEAKER_00

It got us through nights, many a night, many a night. So uh this is a uh a segment and a game I like to call hypothetically speaking. All right, so this is the first scenario, and this is for everyone out, by the way. You're driving home, you find a backpack with $250,000 cash, no ID, no cameras. What do you do?

SPEAKER_02

I go home with a backpack. Never think about it again. What are you talking about?

SPEAKER_01

So uh $250,000.

SPEAKER_06

Who in the backpack is coming?

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so first off, I don't care who that money's for. That that is life-changing money for somebody for me.

SPEAKER_04

Uh not taking in.

SPEAKER_01

You I would turn it in. It it ain't it ain't worth it. You I still gotta look at myself in the mirror the next day.

SPEAKER_04

I'm not you didn't steal it from nobody.

SPEAKER_01

I'm like, no, you gotta count your blessings. No, no. Where do you turn it in at? Okay, just the police department. Police department, you fill out a form, and if no one claims it, then you still get it. That's true. But say that is the old man's retirement, you just ruin their life. You got you.

SPEAKER_02

That could have been his karma, he was receiving.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, I don't, I don't want to. We we we also know that was drug money. That's what I guess. The only reason someone's carrying a backpack with that much money,

Why Roth IRAs Matter

SPEAKER_01

oh yeah, and they ain't showing up to the police department to claim it.

SPEAKER_03

You never watch No Country for Old Man, man. You gotta watch No Country for Old Man. I think that shit. I was like, damn, that makes me think twice. What? Yeah, serial killer after you died.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. And they do their research, they're fine. I was like, he killed everybody in the city to get that money. But that that will ruin someone's life.

SPEAKER_04

That's right. If if you think about it in context, like it could have been somebody somebody fucked up, they lost their team.

SPEAKER_03

It could have been for two kilos. You never know. I didn't even think about that. I'm just like, damn, man. I hope they don't send that whoever it is, Roberto.

SPEAKER_04

You say yeah. I don't know. I don't I don't have an answer. I really don't conflicted.

SPEAKER_03

You're conflicted.

SPEAKER_02

You on the boat, you on the cruise. Come on, you ain't conflicted. You like the country ASAP?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I might just be like, oh, this is uh this is one of them things on TikTok. Cool.

SPEAKER_00

Scenario number two. Your best friend asks you to help hide money from the IRS. Do you risk the friendship?

SPEAKER_03

What do you mean, like hide it? Like in a mattress?

SPEAKER_00

Like, or you putting it in my heck, you know. Like let's let's just go.

SPEAKER_04

That's two different things.

SPEAKER_00

Maurice finds that $250,000 and he asks you to help you to hold it, yeah. I wouldn't do that. You think I'll give it back?

SPEAKER_01

I'd have less of a problem with that, actually. That's on you. I'll I'll hold your cash, no problem. I got a safe, throw it in there, no problem.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know. I feel like if it's hiding money, yeah. But if you're asking me to help you like launder money, we ain't going down on that same shit.

SPEAKER_01

So laundering that's different. It sounded like hold it. Will you hold this for me?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, we could do that.

SPEAKER_01

If a buddy of mine came to me and said, Will you hold this for me? Say they're setting up for divorce and they skimmed off the top. This is what they they swirled away.

SPEAKER_02

Well, good to know.

SPEAKER_01

I only got no problem to know, Robert.

SPEAKER_02

I'm gonna call you. I need you to hold this for me.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I was thinking, how far are you in that you need to hide cash?

SPEAKER_01

So you're you're you're setting up for a divorce. Yeah, let me tell you. That's what that means to me. Yeah, no. Uh I uh I have no problem holding that. Uh especially for family, a close friend. I'll I'll hold that. I won't say nothing, throw it in the state, won't even look at it.

SPEAKER_03

That's gonna be tough because they're gonna come. I know you got that money.

SPEAKER_00

Damn, so you do risk the friendship. You have a fee.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I ain't gonna risk it. They gonna if it's my friend, they're gonna know that it's gotta come with something.

SPEAKER_00

I know I'm not calling you. There is a holding fee. I'm not calling you, that's for sure. Does it gain interest over time if it's no, no, something like that?

SPEAKER_01

You don't get to you don't get to put that in an account somewhere. This is cash money, it sits there.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, okay, okay, okay.

SPEAKER_04

Something like up front. That's all I need.

SPEAKER_00

Scenario number three. Your son wants to become a rapper instead of going to college. What's your response?

SPEAKER_02

Leave your life, little nigga.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, well, I just let me listen first. Well, now King King is uh he made it, so fuck it. Don't worry. He didn't know what's king. He he raps, yeah. I mean, when hey he did it. He did it, he did it.

SPEAKER_04

Wait, King who?

SPEAKER_03

Harris, Harris.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, I thought that's who y'all was talking about.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I'm not gonna fuck it. I ain't TI though, so it's gonna be tougher.

SPEAKER_01

Uh here's why I will display. You can always have a hobby and you can always come back. Investing in education and having uh backing of education will open so many more doors.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and and but and I hear you, Robert, but as as a parent, it's not my job to showing your dream.

SPEAKER_01

I'm gonna let you live your dream until you realize I will slap a kid upside the head. I say that not having kids. I I'm real I'm real strong because they ain't mine. But but if I had mine, they'd they have me wrapped around the but I guarantee you that kid's going to school and I'm supporting it.

SPEAKER_04

For the for the same reason, the opposite. Like you could come back and go to school when you realize you're a trash rapper. But I really don't know. Really? And the reason let me give you my feedback.

SPEAKER_01

To go back to school is so much harder when you're out of that that routine that mindset.

SPEAKER_04

No, I get that.

SPEAKER_01

When when uh say say you're fresh out of high school, you're you're already used to going to class every day, to get out of that mindset and go back to it after you've experienced the real world, that is so much more difficult. No, you don't get that choice. I'm gonna slap you aside the head and put some sense into you and go to fucking school. Don't go waste my money.

SPEAKER_04

Well, okay, that's what I'm getting at. But the kid that goes to school that didn't want to go to school, now they done fucked your money up because they wanted to school. That's what I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

There was some valuable shit in that.

SPEAKER_04

I think that you're supposed to go to school when you when you feel like you want to go to school because that's a quick way to mess up.

SPEAKER_01

Uh that's that's just me. Well, you've been messing up the kidney up money-wise. Uh I I got a great story of I was a little kid, I don't know, we'll say 10. I was already over school. I was I was so done with it, and I forget how it got brought up. And I was just like, boy, at 18, I can't wait. I'm so done with school. And my mom, she slapped me inside the head and was like, No, you ain't done. You're going to college. That's not a choice. You're going. And I was like, I'll be 18. You can't make me, and I don't want you. No. Little did I know. I I went to college for eight years.

SPEAKER_03

I was right there. I didn't get, I don't have nothing though. You got memories, not a doctor, nothing. You got memory though.

SPEAKER_04

I got memory.

SPEAKER_00

You got memory. Scenario number four. A client offers you a hundred thousand dollars cash if you'll look the other way. Nobody would know.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_02

Do it. Hell no. I'm not losing my license for nothing. I thought you said the claim at the first time. I did the claim.

SPEAKER_01

What do you mean by the way? Don't let it go

The Power of Compound Growth

SPEAKER_01

though. Looking the other way on what? I've definitely heard what are we looking the other way on? Some some questionable activity.

SPEAKER_04

He said, What are we looking at the other way on? Illegal.

SPEAKER_03

Is it illegal?

SPEAKER_01

Possibly. Because if it ain't, okay, okay. Say say you're a drug dealer. What whatever you're doing, but you're making real money. You come, you come to me, and I know you're making real money, but you say, This is what I have paperwork on. Am I filing that return? You're damn right. Um on your paperwork. If you tell me this is what you that's on you. That I have no business. It my job is to create your return based on what you tell me. I don't care what you have going on on the side. I I don't. That's not my job. My job is not to audit you, yeah. And uh people come to me. What if I don't have receipt? You tell me a number, I don't like that's on you. If you get audited and you can't back it up, that's on you. But if you tell me I spent fifty thousand dollars on upgrades, okay, yep, 50 grand. There it is. Like I I could put that in and I sleep just fine, no problem. I spent 75,000 on equipment this year. Okay, so what did you make in income? 72. Sounds like he's letting you know the way do what you want. So I have what's called an engagement letter. That engagement letter says this is your return based on the information you provide to me. This is my cover of my ass. So you sign that and you tell me whatever you want to tell, tell me whatever. I I will say, Looks a little fishy to me, but if that's what you want, like every time he says it, I rewrite between the lines.

SPEAKER_00

Like, look, well, they're coming after you.

SPEAKER_01

Yep, that's it. But but if they come after you, I will be there to to have your back in the audit. I will be that dividing line, so they'll talk to me as opposed to coming and giving getting you the threatening and whatever. I'll be the lawyer, I'll stand in between and be like, no, you talk to me.

SPEAKER_00

That's my client, and we will address this. So, as the buffer, as say they might be facing serious jail time, are you the buffer that also tells them to get the fuck out like out of here?

SPEAKER_01

Or do you just uh so uh in my world, it's not jail time, it's significant financial repercussions. Okay, so you ain't going to jail, but they will seize your account and take everything that you have in your name for sure.

SPEAKER_00

So, would you take Wesley Snipes on as a I'll take anyone on the client, okay?

SPEAKER_01

You tell me, sign my engagement letter.

SPEAKER_00

All right, scenario number five. You discover your boss has been stealing money from the employees, you need a paycheck. Do you expose them?

SPEAKER_01

I did this at UPS. Uh yeah, mama. So uh I had uh the manager was playing with the numbers, playing with people's time, and I noticed it and I started tracking my time, and I made an announcement at the table at break. So I noticed a difference between my clock hours and what my check said. Write down your times, everybody, and track that. That's on you, but they ain't doing that to me, Marie. Right? No, wasn't Marie?

SPEAKER_02

No, then we didn't name them.

SPEAKER_01

No, yeah, you can't skip, she got fired. This actually was when uh I went to preload and it was Gerald and that guy. Fucking Gerald. I I went to preload, uh, and I I had the seniority, so I was top seniority. He hated me, uh, which was fine. Uh, so I I talk with everyone, you know, I talk with everybody. And so his his solution, he put me with the deaf guy to get me to stop talking to people. Little did he know. I was in sign language at the time, so we started talking in sign language, not doing nothing. This guy at the end of the belt staring at me, screaming, like he would get red in the face, screaming at the top of his lungs, like he's my dad. Was Gerald talking? He was uh fat, yeah. He's fat, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

He said, Little did he know.

SPEAKER_01

Even better. I know sign language, man. When uh his his sign for Gerald was everybody knew exactly who he was talking about. So uh so he he moved me, he had me in the back of a trailer, he got tired of me, moved me, uh, put me at the top of the belt. So my job was to make sure the label was upright. That's all I did. Then he didn't like me doing that. So then at the end of that, my job was to go to the end of the belt, whatever boxes made it to the end. I picked those up, put them on a red cart, I dragged them to the front and threw them back on the belt. I dragged my feet so much, my work boots were flat. I like I no, I ain't even joking. That that's a true story. He hated me, but I had the seniority, and I was just like, What are you gonna do?

unknown

Fuck.

SPEAKER_01

But he started messing with my time, he started messing with my numbers, and I made a full-on announcement. I noticed this, I suggest everyone track your shit because they're fucking you, and I wouldn't take it.

SPEAKER_02

I think that that's just a company thing because we I got a big ass check one time. They called, they called, they they no more than once, they called them and then they they had to go back and reevaluate everything, and then we got makeup checks for all the common.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I called Maria out on that shit.

Tax-Free Investing Explained

SPEAKER_00

I walked into the office and said something adding up, but she was like, Oh, you know, computers aren't always right. I said the fuck they ain't. That's a one drop they do. Weird answer. I know after that shit, my shit was never wrong again. Yeah, um, scenario number six, you become financially free tomorrow. Do you stop working or do you just keep building?

SPEAKER_01

Um I'm working.

SPEAKER_00

I don't oh fuck that.

SPEAKER_01

I I would burn that building down and never show up again. I'll be on a beach. I'll be chilling.

SPEAKER_02

I never stopped working at UPS. I said I just said I'm working, I'm doing what I want to do. I gotta do something.

SPEAKER_04

What do you mean by keep building?

SPEAKER_01

Make it money. Yeah, make it money. But so money is still the pursuit, even after you have the foundation.

SPEAKER_04

Those aren't the same thing. No, it's not. You mean keep working at your place that you're working or so?

SPEAKER_00

Do you start working or do you keep building?

SPEAKER_02

Oh god. So I think I stop working at my place of employment and I build on what I want to on what I want to do. So that because that way you, I mean, I feel I feel like you gotta get up every morning with a purpose. You got a purpose and just you start withering away.

SPEAKER_03

Uh wait, you start climbing mountains and shit.

SPEAKER_02

That's that's your purpose. Like, I'm gonna climb this mountain. You might as well record that shit while you find me and get paid for.

SPEAKER_01

So, what you don't want to do is post up in your recliner and watch TV. Because I it and all of my clients that retire, and they do that. You got three to five years, then you're done. So you do have to keep doing something, but money is not the pursuit at that point. So entertain yourself, do something that that you find entertaining that you like, no problem. But money doesn't have to be involved, it doesn't have to be the pursuit. So, will will I keep myself busy? Sure, but will I work? Absolutely not. No, I I'm not showing up for a paycheck, I ain't abiding by someone else's schedule. You work for yourself, yeah. But no, uh I if given the opportunity, I would I would stop working. I absolutely people like lows and shit though. You see some of them old people.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know if I'd stop working, to be honest.

SPEAKER_02

It's because you ain't set your ass down in years.

SPEAKER_04

What you mean?

unknown

What do you mean?

SPEAKER_02

I'll tell you what I mean.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I can keep going. But I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

But the the difference is does the check make you get up? Like so I I would make my own schedule. I I ain't evading or abiding by someone else's schedule. If someone tells me be somewhere at this time, no, I can't do that.

SPEAKER_04

No, I agree with that for sure.

SPEAKER_00

Scenario number seven, you inherit $10 million. What's the first thing you buy? And what's the first thing you refuse to buy?

SPEAKER_02

First thing I buy is a new phone with a new number. Oh that's the way that's the first thing I get.

SPEAKER_00

Are you gonna write it off as a business? Exactly.

SPEAKER_02

Of course, it's gonna be a business phone. It's gonna be in the business name, so Robert can write it off. That's it. Yep.

SPEAKER_01

That's the first thing I do. 10 million. Uh, so primary residents pay that off. Uh, that that's your foundation. And not not only is that your foundation, that is the door toward generational wealth. That is something you can pass it off. You can upgrade it. You yeah, whatever. Pass the motherfucker off.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Pay that off. But having your house paid off, that is the solid foundation to opening so much, so many doors. First thing I do every time.

SPEAKER_03

Carl I'm not gonna buy Carol.

SPEAKER_02

Wow, that's why I always say that I can't. I'm not uh I'm gonna make if I make my last house payment in August, I'll retire in September. Well the second that motherfuckers paid off, I'm done. I lost this bitch.

SPEAKER_04

What would you not buy?

SPEAKER_02

What Timon?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, a car? I feel you. I thought car too. I would not buy a car. Car came to mind.

SPEAKER_02

I would that I would not buy a car. That's the last, that'd be the least thing of mine. I would not buy a woman. I got I got a terrible investment. Yeah, I got it.

SPEAKER_06

I got you know, I got one at home.

SPEAKER_02

I don't need another one. I might upgrade her a little bit. Put some botons. No, no, no, no, she don't need none of that. You know, just you know, upgrade her by sending her places so she out of my hair.

SPEAKER_00

You know, oh, I got you. I was gonna say you're gonna write that off as a yeah, upgrades.

SPEAKER_02

It's like that, it's like that real assessment. It's like mature Americans uh being and uh being happy once you realize your wife can go wherever she wants to go as long as you get to stay home. That's where I'm at. Go have your life, let me be here.

SPEAKER_01

Uh so uh

Real Estate Wealth Strategies

SPEAKER_01

same idea. I told my girl, so if you want upgrades, you do the only fans, get that 1099, I'll write those upgrades off. That's smart.

SPEAKER_00

That's smart, that is smart, Kevin.

SPEAKER_03

You no, yeah, my house. I'm buying that, paying that off right away. What wouldn't you buy? S curl, nigga. You said an S curl, yeah, absolutely.

SPEAKER_02

I feel like I would probably sell my house though, because I won't need a yeah, $10 million.

SPEAKER_04

I don't want my house. No, no, no, it's not no no no that's not as a rental property.

SPEAKER_01

Uh I don't want my house no more.

SPEAKER_02

It's not that I don't want the house, I just realized that at a certain point it's gonna be too much house. I only have one child, so when she's gone, we don't need all this house. It's just me and the wife. We I you know we can downgrade to a two-bedroom condo, and I'm happy.

SPEAKER_03

I don't think off rip.

SPEAKER_01

Oh no, off rip. It's all about location. So that that condo's gonna be. Look, we rip it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, okay, that's fair. I'm in the compound.

SPEAKER_02

I want like a whole I love my family, but them niggas gotta go.

SPEAKER_04

I'm gonna go down. We're gonna have a ranch. I I want land.

SPEAKER_02

You ain't milking no cows. Did I say I was?

SPEAKER_04

I said I want the ranch and I'll have staff that does that.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, I'm gonna just I'm gonna do the same, but I'm gonna handling the pay for flights, be like y'all can fly out. Just yeah, I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Scenario number eight, your child accidentally commits a tax fraud or to commits tax fraud because they listen to TikTok. If you're the dad or mom, do you let them figure out or bail them out?

SPEAKER_01

How would you bail them out?

SPEAKER_03

They already did this.

SPEAKER_01

So what you find an amended return? But so how are you bailing them out?

SPEAKER_00

Got got money on here, maybe to bail them out.

SPEAKER_02

You can't bail out the jail time, they get jail time. It's fraud. That's jail time.

SPEAKER_01

No, they they're coming at you with fees. But but no, that they did that themselves. They figure it, they're figuring out life the hard way real quick.

SPEAKER_00

Do you go on TikTok and talk about it?

SPEAKER_05

That's funny.

SPEAKER_00

No, trying to monetize off the stuff. Yeah, you're like, you know what my kid did?

SPEAKER_01

You do that after they got caught, but not before. You don't put them on black fuckers. IRS, if you're listening, this motherfucker.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, huh? Yeah. Well I'm gonna have my baby till she dies. So or until I die, rather. I'm gonna die first.

SPEAKER_04

I'm a I'm I'm ride with mine. We're gonna figure it out.

SPEAKER_00

What would you say in private to them about you? Oh, they're getting cussed out.

SPEAKER_04

It's bad. It's actually really bad.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_02

All right, just make a show. I might actually whoop her for the first time.

SPEAKER_04

Go for real across the eyes.

SPEAKER_02

Advice from TikTok.

SPEAKER_04

All right, I think it's gonna be a problem.

SPEAKER_03

How much did you say? It don't matter what the number is. Hey, uh oh, 2.5 mil. I mean, hey, I kind of figure out let me see how this feels.

SPEAKER_00

Scenario number nine: a homeless man asks you for a hundred dollars. You know, I'll probably just use it for alcohol. Do you give it to him anyway?

SPEAKER_02

If I got it, if I got it, but if it ain't gonna cost me, yeah. I normally don't buy uh give them money, I'd buy them food. So I'll probably yeah, I'll take him a chilies and give them a bar, give them a drink, and why the fuck are you asking me for a dollar amount?

SPEAKER_03

You came up and said, I want a hundred dollars to hundred dollars is bowls. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

How many bottles are we buying today? Jesus. I might have to buy a bottle. Okay, I've got it. Same idea, but different context. Would you the the homeless man that has the sign that says um need need money? Would would you be more inclined to give it to him versus the homeless man that has the sign that says I'm buying booze with money if you give it to me? Which one of those are you more inclined to give? To me, it's the same.

SPEAKER_02

I feel I agree. I just feel like the one with booze is being honest, the one that's not he might be he might go buy some crack. So I mean, I don't I don't think to no crack.

SPEAKER_01

Um a hundred bucks that I might I might give a 20. Like, thanks for not robbing or killing me. Especially if they on crack.

SPEAKER_04

Hey yo, I let me real quick that you just have to do it. Hey, someone can just be bold. They probably been homeless for a long time. I had this old black man tell me one time, I know you got it. Goddamn.

SPEAKER_02

He wasn't lying, though. I told him, shut up.

SPEAKER_04

I told him no, and then he that was his response to me. Like, I know you got it. So we just laughed about it. I kept go walking. You didn't give it. You're like, you're right. Anyway, that's how I got it. That gave me a laugh, sir. Thank you.

SPEAKER_00

All right, we're gonna go rapid fire. Robert, this is for you. Rapid fire. Rich or respected. Respected. Money or time? Take money. Credit score or cash. Credit. Save or invest.

SPEAKER_01

Well you save to invest, so both.

SPEAKER_00

Debt or no debt? No debt. Lc or sole proprietor. I don't know that one.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, we all know that answer.

SPEAKER_00

Stocks or real estate.

SPEAKER_01

Uh probably stocks and reason. Uh so say you need 3,500 bucks this month. You can sell a stock. You can't go remove a window. Gotcha. So technically, your real estate it's locked up. That is uh it's a good investment, don't get me wrong, but you you can't access it if you if you're short this month, you can't access that shortage immediately. Gotcha. What about what a HELOC? Uh that no work from home or office. That's still borrowing.

SPEAKER_00

Work from home or office.

SPEAKER_01

Uh for me personally, I go to the office just because if I'm in my home, I can't focus on my task as well. But if I'm if I'm in my place, I'm doing business. This is where I I need to do work. So that's just my mindset and how my mind works.

Generational Wealth Mindset

SPEAKER_00

Audit one celebrity. Who is it?

SPEAKER_01

Um, we'll say Johnny Depp just because I want to see how much he spends on drugs. Uh I don't think you have a line, Robert. I'll give me a line on expensive. No, so what was this withdrawal for $10,000 this month? Oh, okay. Cocaine.

SPEAKER_02

Top shelf.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, he's doing more than $10,000 worth of cocaine. He got it. No, this month. I think he's doing more than that.

SPEAKER_02

We're not gonna talk bad about Johnny, okay? I like Johnny.

SPEAKER_04

But cocaine is expensive. So $10,000 doing that much.

SPEAKER_01

That's a lot of cocaine, dude.

SPEAKER_04

No, I think he's doing more than that.

SPEAKER_01

That's a lot.

SPEAKER_00

If taxes disappear tomorrow, what happens?

SPEAKER_01

Not a whole lot. Um, so you would be more comfortable where you are, sure, because you have more money, but at the same time, that's not gonna be the difference between you getting into the next tier. Uh, so take away taxes from middle class that doesn't make you upper. You can't afford the Ferrari without taxes. So, not a whole lot changes for the normal person. Congratulations.

SPEAKER_00

Finish the sentence.

SPEAKER_01

Success is uh success is waking up with a smile on your face and not dreading the next day.

SPEAKER_00

Money can't buy. Time. Every man should.

SPEAKER_01

Uh find a partner.

SPEAKER_00

I wish people understood.

SPEAKER_01

Uh there's a difference between money and happiness.

SPEAKER_00

The hardest lesson I've learned.

SPEAKER_01

Sometimes you gotta walk away. You can't save everybody.

SPEAKER_00

I knew I made it when.

SPEAKER_01

Uh I wasn't focused on making it to the end of the month. I I had something saved to back me up. Financial freedom means uh if you didn't show up to work tomorrow, you wouldn't be destitute on the streets the next day.

SPEAKER_00

I wish my younger self knew.

SPEAKER_01

Success is not a straight line. There's gonna be setbacks, you're gonna learn some hard lessons, but that doesn't mean that it you're not successful. And legacy is establishing for the next generation, giving them a solid foundation to leap off of, uh, and uh they're not starting from scratch.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, ladies and ladies and gentlemen, are you ready?

SPEAKER_03

I guess ready.

SPEAKER_00

Robert, I didn't put this in the questions, but it's all it's a it's a tradition. Your top five dead or alive MCs.

SPEAKER_03

Tax writers.

SPEAKER_01

Top five. I'll go with three. Okay, you got three. Uh first one's gonna be M. I mean, of course. Of course, why, of course, Robert? Because that's what I grew up on. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_02

Boom.

SPEAKER_01

That was my generation. Uh is that the reason? Uh uh just because he's white does not I see what you're saying. No, yeah. I'm done. Okay, I'll just I threw out one. Who who do you guys got? What's your one? Okay, this is this is yours. You said you got three. Okay, uh, so that would be one. I I'm not even up on rap anymore. Uh I don't blame you.

SPEAKER_00

I really don't blame you.

SPEAKER_01

Uh, but as far as MCs, uh, I I used to like Nas. I uh his rewind, I thought was uh on a different level. That song, uh, the way that he put everything together and told the whole story, but backwards, but still made it flow. I had a whole lot of respect for that. As far as MCs go, uh, he would be up there. Um, and then stutter. Oh shit.

SPEAKER_00

I was thinking, what if he said me?

SPEAKER_02

What if he said me? No extra rounding points for that, Robert.

SPEAKER_01

That's fine.

SPEAKER_00

I I respect it. I respect it, and I appreciate it. I appreciate it, sir. So this is the final question, and we call this the final destination. So I watch you from going and studying in your truck before it art shifts at UPS to becoming a respected CPA. If somebody is listening, sitting in their own version of that blue Dodge Ram today, working a job that they don't want to be at while chasing a bigger dream, what do you want them to hear?

SPEAKER_01

I tell them the same thing I tell Malcolm. You take it one day at a time. You got a goal and you work towards it, and inch by inch, little by little, if that's your focus and that's what you want, you will attain it.

SPEAKER_02

Well, amen.

SPEAKER_00

So as a

What Is Financial Freedom?

SPEAKER_00

CPA and you have a business, uh, where can they reach you for help financially and and and and tax stuff and shit information and education? Because a lot of people need it.

SPEAKER_01

Uh so I'm always the email away. So uh my email is gonna be my name, it's Robert at sushin, su c A N C P A.com. Uh I respond to every email. You'd also reach me at my place of business, uh 8588 Utica. That's out in Rancho. Uh, I'm there every day, whether I want to or not. But you you you can find me, uh, reach out with the email, and I guarantee you, I look at, I respond to every email. You'd be surprised how many clients that we get. And uh what they say is my last accountant, I've called, I've emailed, I can't get a hold of. They don't respond. We respond to every phone call, every email. You can always reach us 100% of the time. I I do have one final funny story.

SPEAKER_02

Every time I call Robert and your assistant answers, she goes, uh, you know, uh, Susan don't get. I was like, I'm gonna speak to Robert. Let me see if he's in. I was like, we both know he's in. It's if I'm busy. But yeah. So the last time I called, I said actually, she she chuckled, she's like, I know, let me just see if he's let me see if he's looking or not.

SPEAKER_01

Well, sometimes I am in with the client, so I can't take the phone call. But other than that, 100% I'm taking that call. And if I happen to be in with the client, we get a message and I'm calling me back.

SPEAKER_02

He does call back pretty quick. Sometimes I'd be like, damn, I wasn't expecting that back. Damn.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Uh this is a dope thing to see and to be able to do. And I've been wanting to do this for a long time. Uh, and it finally lined up that this day was a day that we actually can get Robert in here. Uh, I want to say, man, um, I've seen you grow uh as a person. Uh I've always thought it was dope that you were always like this confident and relaxed and poised. Because I've seen you be laid back but also threaten somebody. So it's like it's dope to see the growth and and to see you pull up in that in that I don't want to in that nice car and and and seeing that you were in that blue dyed ram.

SPEAKER_02

Don't put his business out there.

SPEAKER_00

I'm not I'm not gonna say what car it was, I'm just saying it was a nice car.

SPEAKER_01

Uh so uh my license plate, death and taxes. Only guarantees in life. But uh yeah, uh if if you see me around, give me a wave.

SPEAKER_00

But um, this is it's a beautiful thing to see. And uh I just want to say I rock with you, heavy, and um thank you for being here today. And when you call me, uh I'm still gonna be throwing that you use that professional voice. Because that's not the Robert I'm used to. So I hear him like, Robert.

SPEAKER_01

Um that that that's on the clock, Robert. That's a different beast.

SPEAKER_02

Can we get a can we get a sample on Snake and here with on the clock? He sounds completely different on the clock.

SPEAKER_01

So if I'm giving you a call, this is Robert from Sushan and Associates.

SPEAKER_00

It always throws me. Wait a minute, Robert!

SPEAKER_06

Oh yeah, hey. So uh Robert.

SPEAKER_00

You're always welcome back. Uh thank you for giving all this information. It's very much needed. Um uh thank you, man. Again, I guess I can't say that enough. Uh till next time. Like, subscribe, share, and comment. All that shit. We love you. Peace. Peace.
